Se comptant par millions, les blogs sont de plus en plus utilisés par les entreprises, aussi bien comme outil de communication interne pour les salariés que pour mettre en place une nouvelle forme de communication vers les clients ou prospects auprès d'une communauté de plusieurs millions de "blogeurs". Interactif, souple et sans intermédiaire, le blog s'affirme comme un mode de communication à part entière et complémentaire des médias traditionnels; entreprises et commerçants adoptent donc ce nouvel outil, simple et économique, pour développer leur site et promouvoir leur image.

Michel Edouard Leclerc rédige son blog pour s'exprimer principalement sur les à côtés de son métier ou de leur impact sur la société comme la consommation, le développement durable, l'aménagement du terroire ...Il rédige pendant ses temps de transport. Pour lui, cet outil, au delà d'être une prolongement de ce qu'il fait sur le papier, lui permet de structurer et de produire quelques chose d'abouti ( rédaction des notes) . Au delà de l'outil de publication , c'est un puissant outil d'échanges très enchissants avec d'autres blogeurs ( journalistes, citoyens ...).
